Traveling Westward

Cross Country By Car

I’m trying to catch up organizing photos from last fall’s travels.

As I was driving westward from Michigan to Nevada I snapped a bunch of scenes that illustrate varying industry in the intervening states.

Here are some photos that illustrate my car journey to Reno.

Illinois – bales of hay
Iowa – irrigator watering the corn field
Nebraska – silo on a large farm
Nebraska – transporting a tubine blade
Wyoming – small oil refinery in Cheyenne
Wyoming – large wind farm on a mesa
Wyoming – lone pumpjack near Laramie
Wyoming – truck moving oil processing machinery
Wyoming – the huge oil refinery in Sinclair
Nevada – freight train moving oil to the coastal states
Nevada – finally a scenic view of the fall Aspens

As I traveled west from my home, it was clear to me that that industry and the way of life in these other states differs drastically from what I’ve been used to in Michigan.
